Front Row: The Weeknd Wows Audience At The Orpheum In Los Angeles
You know when you get tickets to see an artist you like but have never seen live you hope and pray that they sound just like or at least close to their record? Then you go all the way down there to see them and they sound completely horrible and you leave heart broken? Well, that didn’t happen with The Weeknd whatsoever! That moment when that artist you like becomes one of your top 3, yea that moment. That happened last night!
The sold out show went down at The Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles and let’s jump right into it. No opener, no flying dancers, no fire or lasers, just one mic and mic stand, a band, two background singers – everyone in black and amazing light placement. That was all we needed. The Weeknd took to stage for what was about a one hour show. The crowd, packed into an intimate venue stood on it’s feet the entire time, belting out every single word of every song. It was almost an intrinsic trance that the Toronto crooner had on the audience.
But there was once song that of course stood out and apart from every other one performed and it was his slow version of ‘Wicked Games!’ Hitting every single note that you hear on the record, The Weeknd sang his hit song and got into it just as much as we did!
Music lacks a lot of things these days, but there’s no doubt that Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd are the promises that we can get back to enjoying it’s journey.
The Weeknd is a MUST see when he comes to a city near you. Tonight he’s in San Francisco and will resume touring in the UK around March. Check HERE to stay updated on when you can catch him!
On another note, Wiz Khalifa just dropped ‘Remember You‘ ft. The Weeknd. If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t seen the video, we got you! Check it out below! Another banger…
