Celeb News: Steven Tyler Apologizes To Nicki Minaj “I’m Not A Racist”
Nicki Minaj who’s been having a pretty bad week may be somewhere smiling today as somewhat of a vindication has happened for her. We’re not talking about an increase in the dismal sale of ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up‘ which reportedly only sold around 35,000 copies. We’re talking about her public feud with rock legend and former American Idol judge Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. This week an interview of Tyler hit the net where he responded to a question about whether or not Nicki [and the new judges] were good replacements on the show. Well Nicki didn’t like Tyler’s response and went on a twitter tirade firing shots at the rocker even questioning whether or not he was a racist. This sparked a lot of buzz on the internet because anyone in hip hop would remember that Steven Tyler and Aerosmith and Run DMC were responsible for the merge between Rock N Roll and Hip Hop with their collaboration of ‘Walk This Way.’
The track single-handedly opened doors in a whole other world for black rap artists.
Well Tyler has wasted no time responding to Nicki’s charges.
“I apologize if it was taken wrong Nicki,” he said on eTalk, a Canadian entertainment show. “But I am the farthest from [being a racist]. I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist.”
“I don’t know where she got that out of me saying I’m not sure how she would have judged Bob Dylan. I was just saying that if Bob Dylan came on the show, he would’ve been thrown off, so maybe I spoke out of turn. But a racist I am not, Nicki.”
Let’s be clear. We NEVER believed that Tyler was a racist. In fact, we think of him as one of us don’t we? WE DO!
Nicki really should step away and take a look at why everyone is starting to fire shots at her, why her album tanked, and why her career is starting to plateau. We’re not the reason but we are saying it! We love Nicki and want her to be around but she’s got to chill!
Tell us what you think!
