Omarion Talks His Role In The Rick Ross & Jeezy Beef, How He Almost Dated Chris Brown’s Girl, & New Music [Video]

Jason Lee caught up with MMG’s own Omarion a.k.a. Maybach O on the set of his latest music video for M.I.A featuring label mate Wale. Omarion joined MMG earlier this year and has progressively made his way back onto the scene where he belongs. The song M.I.A. is off the ‘Self Made 2′ album and there’s no doubt the MMG clan is going to continue to dominate the charts.  One thing we respect about O is that he keeps it real and when we spoke to him he did just that. Here is a break down on what Omarion told Jason Lee about joining where M.I.A. came from, what he thinks of the whole Chris Brown, Rihanna, and Karreuche mess, and whether or not the Rick Ross & Jeezy beef will die down!

ON M.I.A.: “It’s written by Sha Sha Jones produced by Big Bully, I mean it’s just like, it’s from the Self Made album, Self Made 2 by the way, salute everyone who went out and support that. I’m in rare form. But I’m in a great transcending moment to where I want to be. I’ve been doing this for a long time and I’m just happy to be with the team I’m with and we turning up, we on the set and it’s looking good.”

WHAT’S CHANGED SINCE JOINING MMG: “Really just the perception, I mean the perception of other people. As Katt Williams said they aint hating on you if you aint doing nothing – and they’re hating.”

WHERE DO YOU WANNA GO WITH THE TEAM [MMG]: “One of the most important things I’ve been apart of is comrade. I started with a group and being able to see how powerful…you know, like they said two brains is better than one. To have someone like Rozay that is not only a hip hop mogul, but to have a team around you that can actually we all collectively work  as hard and motivates each other I think for me is that new phase. So really what I do and I’ve been doing I’m not going to change that, it’s just going to be another level of it. A variation, better ya know.”

ON THE ROSS AND JEEZY / GUNPLAY AND 50 CENT BEEF:  ”Well I mean, it is an interesting thing. Personally people have their things, but for me I’m just here to make music. Truthfully I think that is the stance that Rozay feels too.  We’re all just here to try to make money and working hard ya know. What we have personally will be dealt with personally and not in the public eye.

ON WHETHER THE BEEF WILL DIE DOWN: “I don’t know. I’ve been doing this for a long time. I’ve never had a personal beef with anyone, I’ve had personal problems. I never had public beef. It’s an odd thing, but it happens.”

WHERE DID MAYBACH O COME FROM, YOU’RE STILL OMARION RIGHT?: “Of course. It’s just a nickname like your cousin calls you or your family calls you cause I’m one of the newest member of the Maybach family. It’s a nickname.”

ON CHRIS BROWN CONTROVERSY WITH RIHANNA AND KARREUCHE

Jason Lee: HAVE YOU TALKED TO CHRIS BROWN

Omarion: “Umm, no I seen him a couple of months ago but I haven’t spoken to him no.”

Jason Lee: HAS THE RELATIONSHIP CHANGED NOW THAT YOU’RE OFFICIALLY BACK ON THE SCENE. A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO KNOW MUSIC, DANCING, AND ARTISTRY HAVE SAID THAT YOU’RE A BETTER DANCER, A BETTER PERFORMER, HAS THE RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU AND CHRIS CHANGED SINCE YOU CAME BACK AND YOU’RE DOING YOUR THING?:

Omarion: “Well I mean I think everyone has an opinion about who they like and who they dislike” [is this the politically correct O] “no I’m going to be honest with you, I’m going to shoot it straight. I think that you know, naturally things change amongst people. And truthfully I think Chris Brown is in a totally different position that he’s ever been in his life. Dealing with his love life publicly, being a celebrity that he is, going through the things he’s going through. I think he’s one of the few young people out there that gets the type of attention that he does.”

Jason Lee: HE’S THE ONLY PERSON WHO PUTS OUT A MOVIE TRAILER THAT CHRONICLES HIS LOVE AFFAIR WITH TWO DIFFERENT WOMEN – ONE THAT HE BEAT AND ONE THAT HE’S EMOTIONALLY ABUSING NOW – YOU CAN’T REALLY SAY STAY OUT MY BUSINESS WHEN YOU CREATE A MOVIE TRAILER TYPE SHOW FOR THE WORLD TO SEE.

Omarion: “I mean, like I said people have their own opinions about it. But I’ve been a young man before. I grew up in the public eye. There was things that I was personal with and I dealt with and had no control over. Love is one thing that you don’t have control over sometimes. I think being in the public eye it just becomes a difficult issue and I think that that’s really just what it is. Cause it takes two to tango “

Jason Lee: IT’S ALSO ABOUT CHOICES TOO BECAUSE WHAT THE WORLD DON’T KNOW IS I INTRODUCED KARREUCHE TO YOU AND CHRIS AT THE SAME TIME, AND I TOLD KARREUCHE, IN FACT, I THINK YOU AND I MAY HAVE TALKED ABOUT IT, I TOLD KARREUCHE TO DATE YOU. I KNOW YOU AND YOUR BROTHER TO RESPECT WOMEN, BE RESPECTFUL TO WOMEN.  CLEARLY THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN. DO YOU THINK SHE MADE THE WRONG CHOICE?

Omarion: “Naw, I think that. No one knows us as personally or has seen or been around us as personally as you have. This is the first time I’ve ever really discussed it. Truthfully me and Karrueche has always been cool. I don’t think we ever established something so deep that she had to choose… I feel like you go where your heart is. What her and Chris had and I’m not even meaning publicly I think that there was real love there.”

Jason offered to stand in for Wale should he be unable to do the video. Let’s just say the phone never rang! Check out the whole interview in the video below and pictures from the M.I.A. video shoot above!

Brandy 'Two Eleven' Review + Stream [Audio]

So much has happened since the last time we heard of Brandy, the soloist.
