Love: Will & Jada Celebrate 15 Years of Marriage
One of our favorite black Hollywood couples, Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith are fastly approaching their 15-year anniversary. Withstanding rumors of extra-marital affairs, breakups, and whatever other rumor the streets tried to create, the two have clearly built an amazing family and empire. Jada recently sat down with UsWeekly to discuss their relationship.
Jada recently talked about their upcoming anniversary at the New York City premiere of Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Thursday, Pinkett Smith shared her tips for for keeping the spark alive with Us Weekly.
“You need understanding, acceptance, and compassion,” the 40-year-old actress advised. “And usually you get understanding through friendship, so you need to have that.”
Pinkett Smith continued: “Fifteen years! It’s amazing, isn’t it? When I was doing the Today Show, there was a couple there and they were celebrating 59 years of marriage! And I thought to myself, ‘Fifteen years ain’t nothing!’ So it’s just the beginning, really.”
What’s awesome is the good example both have been to their children. Jaden Smith has found his passion for acting while Willow Smith has toured the world with her successful freshman album and has remained humble in the process. One thing that clearly stands out is the Smith’s know how to keep their private lives private which is probably why nobody has been able to really penetrate it. No pun intended.
